Contest Rules: Tuesday's Telegraphy Contest by SPCWC (TTC-SPCWC)

Version: 20260606_01

1. Organizer and Character of the Contest

The contest is organized by SPCWC - Polish Telegraphy Club (https://spcwc.pl/).
Contest Committee: SQ7M, SP3CW, SQ6MIH
Contact: contest@spcwc.pl

* The first round of TTC-SPCWC will take place on June 2, 2026. This initial period until the end of 2026 will be used to refine the rules and improve the platform. Feedback and suggestions from participants are highly welcome in order to maximize participation in 2027. Information regarding any changes will be published as a QTC on the website https://www.spcwc.pl.

* Station identification (stroke callsigns): Only basic callsigns are allowed in the contest. It is prohibited to use functional suffixes indicating power or mobility (e.g., /P, /QRP, /M, /MM, /AM, /A). Using such a suffix in a callsign (e.g., SP3CW/P, SP3CW/QRP) will result in automatic rejection of the log by the robot. It is permitted and required to use country geographical location prefixes (e.g., DL/SP3CW) when operating from another DXCC area.

2. Date and Time (schedule in section 13)

  • Cycle: Every Tuesday.
  • Round Duration: 60 minutes
  • Time (UTC): 19:30 – 20:29:59 UTC

2.1. Division of the Round into Periods

Each Round is divided into four Periods of 15 minutes each. In each Period, you can make a point-scoring contact with the same station on the same band:

Period I 19:30:00 – 19:44:59 UTC
Period II 19:45:00 – 19:59:59 UTC
Period III 20:00:00 – 20:14:59 UTC
Period IV 20:15:00 – 20:29:59 UTC

3. Bands and Mode

  • Bands:
    • 80m: 3520 – 3555 kHz.
    • 40m: 7010 – 7040 kHz.
  • Mode: CW only.

4. Entry Categories

SO40-QRP 40 meters band, power output up to 5W.
SO80-QRP 80 meters band, power output up to 5W.
SOAB-QRP All Bands (AB) – power output up to 5W.

SOAB-HP All Bands (AB) – 40 and 80 meters, power output over 100W.
SWL Shortwave Listeners category. We invite both beginners and licensed operators to participate.

5. Calling, Reports and Exchange

  • Call: TEST TTC.
  • Exchange: RST report + serial number starting from 001 (e.g., 599 001).
  • Numbering: Continuous throughout the entire Round regardless of the division into Periods and band changes.

6. Scoring and Invalid Contacts

6.1 Transmitting Categories

  • Scoring: Each valid contact (QSO) is 1 point. QSO validity is verified via cross-checking.
  • Duplicates: Contacts with the same station on the same band may be repeated in each new Period (as divided in section 2.1). This allows a maximum of four valid contacts with the same station per band during one Round. Working the same station on different bands (80m and 40m) is permitted without any time limit. Consequently, a maximum of eight point-scoring QSOs with a single station (four on 80m and four on 40m) is allowed per Round.

Invalid Contacts (0 points)

  • Contacts with a station that failed to submit a log.
  • Time difference in logs > 3 minutes.
  • Incorrect callsign of the contact.
  • Error in the RST report and received exchange.
  • Contact repeated on the same band during the same Period.
  • Logs containing a minimum of 10 contacts are considered for the final classification.

6.2 Receiving Category (SWL)

  • Scoring: Each correctly logged contact (QSO) is 1 point. Contact validity is checked using the cross-check method – the RST report and exchange provided by the correspondents. Sent and received reports and the correspondents' serial numbers must be identical.
  • Duplicates: Logging the same station on the same band may be repeated in each new Period (as divided in section 2.1). This allows a maximum of four valid contacts with the same station per band logged during one Round. Logging the same station on different bands (80m and 40m) is permitted without any time limit. Consequently, a maximum of eight point-scoring logged QSOs with a single station (four on 80m and four on 40m) is allowed per Round.

Invalid Contacts (0 points)

  • Logging a contact of a station that failed to submit a log.
  • Incorrect callsign of the contact.
  • Error in the logged RST report and exchange (at least one of the two).
  • Repeated logging of a callsign on the same band during the same Period.
  • Logs from Listeners containing a minimum of 10 contacts are considered for the final classification.

7. Disqualification

  • Violation of generally accepted rules of fair competition, intentional non-compliance with the rules.
  • Scheduling contacts (skeds) via any channels other than amateur bands before and during the Round is prohibited.
  • Only one signal can be transmitted at any given time.

8. Contest Logs (required header fields in section 12)

  • Format: Cabrillo.
  • Deadline: up to 24 hours after the end of the Round.
  • Submission: Platform https://spcwc.pl/upload.
  • After uploading the log, a TOKEN will be sent to the provided email address, which must be used for any subsequent re-submission of the corrected log. Re-uploading a log will completely overwrite its original version.

9. Results Announcement

  • Results will be announced on the contest platform within 48 hours of the log submission deadline.

10. Rankings

  • Individual Rankings: Weekly, monthly and yearly divided into categories, as well as stations not meeting the required number of QSOs (section 6.1 - ranking only for operators excluding the SWL category).
  • Club/Team Rankings: Sum of points of all operators representing a given club/team in a given Round (without division into categories).
    • Club/Team Codes: The correct club/team code must be provided in the CLUB: field of the Cabrillo log. The list is available at: https://spcwc.pl/clubs.
